World Day for Consecrated Life
Sunday Feb. 5th, we celebrate World Day for Consecrated Life.
We recognize and give thanks for those who have
consecrated their lives to God and the Church through the vows of
poverty, chastity, and obedience.
The consecrated life is one way that women and men
live out their baptismal commitment as followers of Jesus.
On this day, we pray for Fr. Joe Fortuna, Sr. Laura
Bregar, and Sr. Etienne Balek.

to protest Federal Healthcare Mandate
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last
week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will
be forced to offer their employees' health coverage that includes
abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception.
Bishop
Richard Lennon calls this a severe assault and denial of the
most fundamental First Amendment freedom, religious liberty.
